The thrust of the "seed to shelf" program I designed was that only the highest quality, premium fresh fruit would be delivered to stores at the right time and utlimately to the consumer at the peak of freshness. Consequently, what happened with the 'seconds'? Our program accounted for that by utilizing all seconds for concentrates, flavorings and juices, which were produced by JFM's subsidiary, Kelly Foods.
